Laurence Rogers specialist teaching skills are in physics teaching methods and innovations with IT. Together with teaching and counselling, his work involves liaison with science teachers in over 100 schools in the region. He organises and teaches national and regional in-service courses for teachers (British Educational Communications Technology Agency, Association for Science Education, and various local education authorities). The research interests of Laurence Rogers concentrate on the application of information technology in the teaching of science. He has recently completed an evaluation of the Science Consortium ICT training programme for science teachers and has published a number of studies of the effects of data-logging in science lessons. He has invented a range of electronic measuring devices, designed graphics, data-logging and control technology software, and developed classroom curriculum material for a number of manufacturers and publishers. Within the Socrates Programme, he is presently a participant in a Comenius project developing the use of ICT for Case Study in Initial Teacher Training.
